Pocoyo returns to the Señal Colombia channel

Pocoyo is one of the most beloved characters in all of Latin America and especially in Colombia. A good example of this is that Señal Colombia, the national public educational and cultural channel, once again bets on the series. The series, which has already been broadcast for eight years, returns to this television with the episodes of its first three seasons, as well as specials and songs.

In this way, Pocoyo reinforces its audience in Colombia, where it is broadcast on the Cartoonito channel, and through different digital platforms such as HBO Max, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Playkids, Claro Video and Edye. In addition, Pocoyo is one of the child stars on YouTube, where it has grown by 14% in the last year and has more than one and a half million subscribers and more than 11 million views.

New licenses

A success that is also transferred to the Colombian license market. Within this chapter, Unitoys, licensee of kitchenware and tableware, and Penguin Random House, which this year has become the new Zinkia licensee for Pocoyo editorial products in the country, stand out. Penguin Random House  is also the Master Publishing Licensee for Spain, Portugal, the United States and other Latin American territories such as Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Uruguay and Chile.

Pocoyo, star in Chiara Ferragni’s children’s birthdays

The “Ferragnez”, one of the best-known Italian families in the world made up of the influencer Chiara Ferragni and her husband, the singer Fedez, have celebrated the birthday of their two children, little Leo and Vittoria, with a themed party in which Pocoyo was been the guest of honor. The little ones celebrated their fifth and second birthdays, respectively, and both Chiara and Fedez wanted to share the celebration on social networks with all their followers. Every year they celebrate a joint party for the little ones since the two were born on very close dates, Leo on March 19 and Vittoria on March 23.

The Italian influencer and the famous rapper have surprised their children with a stage in which all the characters from the series were present, and a personalized snack that included two large cakes that recreated their favorite cartoons. A high-class birthday, in which the little ones were able to share their big day with all their friends dancing, playing and enjoying all the magic of the Pocoyo world.

The success of the party has been such that it has filled many pages of prominent publications around the world. We cannot be more satisfied to see how Pocoyo crosses the screen and becomes the undisputed protagonist of great children’s celebrations.

Muchoyó wins at the National Creativity Awards and at the BCMAs

The voice of childhood, represented through Muchoyó -the great social movement in favor of children and adolescents-, behind which is Zinkia, the publicist Jorge Martínez, together with Arena, CØLLAGE, Hype and F33,- and “The Children’s Revolution” (an alliance made up of the six largest global organizations that work for the protection of children: SOS Children’s Villages, Educo, Plan International, Save the Children, UNICEF Spain and World Vision) has achieved new successes.

After a first recognition of the campaign at the El Chupete 2022 Festival, “Muchoyó. “Earth Hour”: Pocoyo joins the #kmporelplaneta challenge

Last Sunday, March 25, Pocoyo once again became “Earth Hour World Children’s Ambassador” to celebrate the seventeenth anniversary of this initiative, promoted and championed by WWF. This movement, which is the largest worldwide citizen mobilization against climate change and environmental protection, invites the whole of society, companies and institutions to turn off the lights as a symbolic gesture for one hour.

For the second year in a row, Earth Hour has also launched the #KMPorElPlaneta #VueltaAlPlaneta challenge, which proposes to go around the planet virtually to show that sport and teamwork can achieve the most important race of our lives : the climate emergency race. A challenge that Pocoyo has also joined this year to convey to the little ones the importance of taking care of the planet and the many ways that exist to fight against climate change and the destruction of nature: riding a bike, going for a walk, having a race with friends, saving energy, etc.

New videos, songs, games, activities, crafts and an activity book are, among others, the main educational resources for Pocoyo for this edition. In addition to the specific content on #LaVueltaAlPlaneta, Zinkia has created a special 60-minute content available on YouTube in different languages that addresses topics such as planting seeds, healthy food, sustainable transport or saving energy. On March 25, coinciding with Earth Hour, a Pocoyo adventure video was streamed on YouTube.

The Pocoyo website, both in Spanish and English, also collects videos and songs to help the planet, as well as games, coloring, puzzles and fun crafts. There is no shortage of its special activity book in Spanish and English, with different proposals for children to acquire sustainable habits in their daily lives and learn to distinguish renewable energy sources. The WWF website also dedicates a space to Pocoyo, both in its Spanish and English versions.

New titles from the “Pocoyo. Tales to grow”

Beascoa, a label that is included in the children’s division of the Penguin Random House Publishing Group, launches two new titles from the new collection “Pocoyó. Tales to Grow”: “To the bathroom” and “To sleep”.

This new release is the result of this alliance between Zinkia and Penguin Random House, which contemplates an editorial plan for the production and distribution of a collection of Pocoyo publications, including first readings, illustrated stories, activity and coloring books, books to learn English etc.

The two new stories are endorsed and offer advice from Cristina Tébar, an expert in Montessori pedagogy, who provides advice to help children and parents learn to go to the bathroom; and Olga Sesé, child sleep coach and creator of the BabyREM method, which offers a guide to make bedtime a peaceful time for the whole family.

These two new stories join Bescoa’s first two releases “A story for each vowel: a, e, i, o, u (Leo with Pocoyó 1)” and “A story for each letter: p, l, m, s, t, d, n, f, r/rr, h (Leo with Pocoyo 2)”.

Thus, Pocoyo, one of the most beloved characters among children worldwide, now becomes a benchmark for helping children in their routines and contributing to their growth through books.

Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial is a licensee partner of Pocoyo for editorial products in Spain, Portugal, the United States and various Latin American territories such as Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay and Chile.

Zinkia will participate in the next edition of the International Toy Fair (Abrin Fair 2023), the largest toy market event in Latin America, which will be held from March 5 to 8 at the Expo Center Norte in Sao Paulo (Brazil). Pocoyo, an architecture lesson

Pocoyo, in addition to being one of the most successful Spanish animation series among children and being an educational and values benchmark for the little ones, is now also a clear example for the world of architecture.

It is not a statement that we make from Zinkia, but rather that was recently published by Ter (Esther), a brilliant 27-year-old Spanish youtuber and architect by profession, with more than a million and a half followers and a cheeky and intentionally informal style, but surprising and captivating in its exposition.

Pocoyo, full of camera turns and many other techniques, as well as a masterful use of space, depth in design, perspectives and different framing, proves to be in its four seasons a true lesson in design and architecture, according to the influencer. In just over two weeks, the analysis of Pocoyo published on his YouTube channel has generated numerous reactions: more than 800,000 views, 50,000 likes and 2,500 comments; a great movement that has revolutionized the networks beyond its followers.

Pocoyo, with 20 years of history, once again demonstrates why it is a clear benchmark in Spanish animation and now, also in architecture and design.

Zinkia premiered its new children’s series Ghost Bros at Kidscreen Summit

At the main event of the children’s entertainment industry, Kidscreen Summit 2023, which took place on February 12th-16th in Miami, USA, Zinkia introduced one of its new animation projects: Ghost Bros. The series, created by Yellow Kingdom (Chorch Edelstein) and WeDoo Studio (Emi Ordás), is aimed at audiences aged 6 to 8 and comprises 52 episodes lasting around 11 minutes.

Ghost Bros approaches the concepts of family and happiness through the exciting story of two orphan siblings, Sigmund and Gretchel. After being adopted by a dysfunctional family, they experience hilarious adventures while seeking to ensure that every member is happy, since otherwise they will have to return to the terrible place from which they escaped: the Great Beyond.

In addition to this new production, Zinkia chose Kidscreen Summit 2023 to offer a preview of the fifth season of its hit series Pocoyo, which included some significant changes and new characters like Pocoyo’s sister, Pocoyina.

Pocoyo is currently celebrating his 20th anniversary, an extensive trajectory in which he has starred in four seasons and over 200 episodes, as well as the short “Pocoyó y el Circo Espacial” (Pocoyo and the Space Circus), over 80 songs and music videos, and multiple specials. One of the most notable is the episode “Dragon Island,” a co-production with the Tourism Board of Gran Canaria, in which Pocoyo left his white universe for the very first time to visit this Canary Island.

Development of the catalogue

In parallel, Zinkia is developing the rest of the IPs in its portfolio. One of these is Yanco, Dina y los Dinosaurios, which portrays environmental protection and wildlife conservation from an original perspective, aimed at audiences aged 6 to 8. Another significant project is Bumpy: the Bear, a series that is being co-produced with RTVE, Spain’s national broadcaster, and which is expected to begin next spring.
