World premiere of “Isla Dragón”, the first episode of Pocoyo that integrates a live action footage

Pocoyo presents “Dragon Island”, the latest episode of the series in which, for the first time, he changes his traditional white background to integrate real images of the island of Gran Canaria. A historical milestone in the 16-year life of the production that also marks its first branded content action.

The chapter is a co-production between Zinkia and the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, and the starting point of a future project designed by the island’s Tourist Board to promote tourism among international travelers.

“Dragon Island” recreates a millenary legend that assures that the last black dragon lives there. Pocoyo’s curiosity and restless spirit lead him to live an incredible adventure in order to find the dragon. Together with his friends Pato, Loula and Elly, Pocoyo visits such emblematic places as Playa del Inglés, the Maspalomas Dunes, the Roque Nublo Natural Monument or the Tilos de Moya forest; and throughout the trip they also have the opportunity to meet the island’s inhabitants thanks to Pato’s friendly “Canary cousins”.

Pocoyo grows as content and as a brand with “Isla Dragón”, because it shows us a completely different aesthetic from the usual one and incorporates the novelty of narrating an adventure. “Isla Dragón” will be broadcast on televisions and national and international streaming platforms.

The premiere of the chapter took place on July 8 in Madrid, in the Capitol cinemas, in an event in which more than 150 guests gathered and which was attended by the Councilor of Tourism of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Carlos Álamo and Víctor M. López, CEO of Zinkia.
